Oxford Photographer - Kim Martin Photographic - Recent Trip

Just got back from a trip through Spain, We started with a sea crossing from Portsmouth to Santander and then a drive to Avila where we stayed in a Parador which was very good although the food was very disappointing. Never the less it was an enjoyable few days and the walk around Avila was very interesting. We managed to get to the Four Posts to photograph the City wall and I hung around until the Sun started to set hoping for a glorious opportunity for some great shots but it was not that great a Sunset.

From Avila we drove to Calpe where we stayed for about 10 days and then drove to a place called Illueca which was the birth place of Pope Benedict XIII, this was a stunning place high on a very steep hill, the hotel which was part of the palace was very good. The old part of town looked very run down and the newer part looked un-inspiring. We left there a 05.00 and drove to Santander, this was probably the hardest drive I have done for a long time due to the first 30 odd miles which was through empty mountain roads with just a pair of white lines to stop you falling in to, well I am not sure as you could not see further than the car lights. the rest of the journey was a piece of cake and the stop at exit 202 was a welcome break.

The only other news of interest so far is that I have resigned from the OPS committee.
The next Session for Beginners and Intermediate DSLR course that I was going to run has been cancelled but I expect from the response I have had that I will organize another session very soon.
